Circles of Action

Youth Leading Social Change Through Interfaith Collaboration

Circles of Action is Mosaic’s flagship nine-month social justice program for high school students, where interfaith dialogue meets real-world impact.

Youth come together across lines of difference to explore pressing issues of common concern, such as mental health, racial justice, and environmental advocacy—then work together to drive change in their communities.

With support from Mosaic educators, participants gain practical advocacy skills, deepen their understanding of faith and identity, and become the kind of leaders who build bridges instead of barriers.

“My experience with Mosaic Interfaith Youth Action was eye-opening and genuinely meaningful. It was one of the first spaces where I saw real, intentional dialogue between people of different faiths—not just talking, but listening, learning, and finding common ground. I learned that interfaith work is about deepening your understanding of your beliefs while also appreciating where others are coming from.”

– Sully, 18-year-old, Muslim participant from ICB Wayland

With guidance from Mosaic staff and community leaders, each cohort engages in:

Advocacy Training

Learn to speak up and take action with tools like public speaking, policy analysis, and community organizing.

Issue Exploration

Study the roots of today’s most urgent justice issues and the ways faith calls us to respond.

Interfaith Dialogue

Build trust through facilitated conversations that bridge belief systems and promote shared values.

Action Projects

Collaborate with peers to design and lead initiatives that make a tangible impact locally.

Who Can Join?

This is a public program open to any interested youth.

Circles of Action is open to 7th grade to high school students (ages 12–18) from diverse religious and cultural backgrounds. Mosaic works with over 60 houses of worship, schools, and nonprofits across Greater Boston to form each year’s cohort of approximately 25 youth.

We are currently forming the 2025–2026 cohort. If you are an eligible youth who is interested in joining this year’s cohort, or a youth leader, educator, community partner, or parent who is interested in nominating anyone for this cohort, contact us.
