Interfaith Culinary Arts

Exploring Culture, Faith, and Connection—One Meal at a Time

The Interfaith Culinary Arts Program brings youth together in the kitchen to explore the rich traditions of different cultures and religions through the universal language of food.

Through hands-on cooking experiences, interfaith dialogue, and shared meals, youth build bridges across difference while gaining life skills—and in some cases, professional credentials.

More than just a cooking class, this program invites youth to reflect on identity, faith, and belonging, while fostering community and compassion through every dish they prepare.

With guidance from Mosaic staff and guest chefs, participants engage in:

Culinary Workshops

Learn to cook dishes from different religious and cultural traditions, paired with conversations on their spiritual and historical significance.

Interfaith Dialogue

Explore how food connects to faith, identity, and values through guided discussions and storytelling.

Skill-Building

Gain practical skills in cooking, teamwork, and communication. Participants also have the opportunity to earn a ServSafe certification.

Community Meals

Prepare and serve meals for friends, family, and community members to celebrate learning and connection.

Who Can Join?

The Interfaith Culinary Arts Program is designed for high school youth (ages 14–18) from all backgrounds. No cooking experience is required—just curiosity, openness, and a willingness to try something new.

Cohorts are formed in partnership with local schools in the Greater Boston area.

We are always looking for new schools to partner with. Contact us to bring the Interfaith Culinary Arts program to your school community!
