Welcome to Kids4Peace Boston!

Hi there!

We’re so excited you’re here and part of the Kids4Peace Boston community. While we’ve had to move our experiences online this year due to COVID-19, we’re so excited to have the ability to continue many of the great things about our community life together here.

On this platform, we hope you will develop strong friendships, learn together, think, design and implement projects for social change, and have lots of fun!

One of our core values at Kids4Peace Boston is open and respectful dialogue. We build trust, and we do so my treating everyone with diginity and respect, always seeking for a better understanding of others’ feelings and experiences.

Below you’ll find our Community Guidelines. We hope you’ll take the time to read through this carefully.

As members of the K4PB OurSpace community we:

1. Demonstrate respect for all members of the K4PB community with your actions and words. This includes, but is not limited to:
   1. Avoiding saying or doing things that might hurt another member of the community
   2. Taking responsibility when you make a mistake—acknowledge if you hurt someone and apologize!
   3. Attending Circles meetings and completing your group work on time. Being part of Circles means you commit to working on your project between meetings
   4. Asking for help from your group or the K4PB staff when you need it!
      
2. Commit to standing up against racism, discrimination, and hate. In K4PB, we are committed to learning about what unites us as people and to celebrating what makes us unique. Whether you’re talking with someone of a different religion, race, ethnicity, ability or disability, gender identity, or any other difference, we work to understand each others’ lives and perspectives, and to build a community where all are welcome, where everyone is accepted for who they are, and where we stand up for each other.
   
3. Use our online platform, OurSpace, and Zoom responsibly. By using OurSpace and Zoom, we have the ability to connect with each other in new and better ways than ever before in K4PB! Here’s what you need to know about using OurSpace and Zoom:
   1. OurSpace and our Zoom calls are private spaces for the K4PB community. Do not share what is written/posted with people outside of our community (ex. sharing screenshots), and do not record one another without permission of everyone involved (ie sharing to snapchat, Instagram stories, etc). If you see something inappropriate, dangerous, or hurtful, you should share that with a trusted adult who can help (staff, parent, etc).
   2. No inappropriate content, including obscene language or images, content that encourages harmful or illegal activities, content that encourages others to change their religious beliefs/practices, or bullying or hurtful content.
   3. All content on OurSpace should be considered public to the K4PB staff—K4PB staff reserve the right to read and monitor all conversations and content on the K4PB OurSpace site.
      
4. Hold each other accountable. No one is perfect, and sometimes we might not live up to our community guidelines! If you see that someone isn’t living up to our guidelines, it is your responsibility to help them fix their mistake, either by talking respectfully to the person or by talking to an adult who can help.
